Pictures - Page 6

A cloud of smoke from a bush fire appeared in the sky during school on wednesday. My curiosity got the best of me and I had to go find the fire. This is the picture I took just before I left from a park near Michael's house.

I couldn't get through on the road I took at first, so I quickly snapped a few pictures and tried a different route.

I found where the fire squad's helicopters were taking off and landing, so I thought I'd snap a picture of 2 of them. There were 6 total used for this fire according to the news.

People were standing around, chatting the day away, saying where they were when they first noticed the smoke, trying to make people think they were important and were somehow a fire expert. Cars would frequently drive up with children who just wanted to see the helicopters taking off, and then getting bored while their parents were talking about their limitless knowledge of wildfires in Western Australia. I would have laughed at all of them if I wasn't busy taking pictures gawking at it all just like they were.

I was getting closer, so I stopped along the road, walked to the top of a hill and took some pictures.

I got right up to the edge of the fire where they had plowed the ground so the fire wouldn't go any further. After standing there for a minute I was sweating like I was standing next to a wild fire on a 95 degree day.
